Japanese global apparel retailer UNIQLO hosted “An Introduction to LifeWear” on November 14, a special event created to showcase the brand’s unique LifeWear philosophy ahead of its market launch in downtown Ho Chi Minh City on December 6.

“An Introduction to LifeWear” immersed visitors in the story of LifeWear, UNIQLO’s special philosophy of design and clothing. Through presentations from senior UNIQLO representatives and a series of engaging installations across themed zones, the brand demonstrated how LifeWear is its constant pursuit of innovation, quality, value, and sustainability for UNIQLO customers.

“We are honored to talk more about our LifeWear concept today ahead of our first UNIQLO store opening next month,” said Mr. Osamu Ikezoe, General Director and COO of UNIQLO Vietnam.

“LifeWear is what separates UNIQLO from other apparel brands. LifeWear comes from the Japanese values of simplicity, quality, and longevity. It is always inspired by life’s needs, with a strong emphasis on technological innovation and clever functionality.”

LifeWear explained

“An Introduction to LifeWear” featured engaging demonstrations revealing the science behind proprietary UNIQLO innovations like AIRism, HEATTECH, and Ultra Light Down. Also on show were exhibits highlighting popular UT (UNIQLO t-shirt) items bringing together carefully curated pop-culture iconography from around the world to enable self-expression, and an Instagrammable display illustrating how UNIQLO’s UV Protection items elevate one of the most unique and iconic everyday moments of life in Ho Chi Minh City.

Spotlight on sustainability

The event featured a display explaining how UNIQLO leverages its scale, design, and advanced technological strength to make sustainable choices effortless for customers through LifeWear.

Examples included UNIQLO Jeans made with advanced technology to reduce water use by up to 99 per cent in the washing process, products that create a circular apparel cycle using cleaned recycled down in new down products, and high-tech DryEX items that convert PET-bottle waste into a premium quick-drying fabric.

The brand recently announced its first Vietnam store, UNIQLO Dong Khoi, will open on December 6 in the southern city.
