Vietjet Air announced its latest direct service connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Thailand’s famous coastal destination Pattaya (U-Tapao International Airport) on December 2.

The new daily service has a flight time of one hour and thirty minutes and will start from December 23. Flights depart Ho Chi Minh City at 1.25pm and arrive in U-Tapao at 2.40pm, while the return flight leaves U-Tapao at 11.25am and arrives in Ho Chi Minh City at 12.55pm (all local times).

To celebrate the new route, more than 100,000 super-saving tickets priced from VND0 (excluding taxes and fees) are being given away during four days of a special promotion, from December 2 to 5 between the “golden hours” of 12pm to 2pm (GMT+7). Tickets are available on all flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Pattaya, from Da Lat and Da Nang in Vietnam and from Taichung in Taiwan (China) to Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi), and domestic Thai routes from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, Krabi, and Udon Thani, Phuket to Chiang Rai, and Udon Thani to Chiang Rai. Travel times for the promotion are from December 23, 2019 to October 24, 2020 (excluding public holidays).

Tickets can be purchased on all Vietjet channels, at www.vietjetair.com, the mobile app “Vietjet Air”, or via Facebook at www.facebook.com/vietjetairvietnam (just click the “Booking” tab). Payment can be easily made with Vietjet SkyClub, Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, JCB, KCP, and UnionPay cards, or with any ATM card issued by 34 Vietnamese banks and registered with internet banking.

Following the launch of the Ho Chi Minh City-Pattaya route, Vietjet now operates the most routes and frequencies between Thailand and Vietnam, with eight direct flights in total, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hai Phong, and Da Lat to Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi), and from Ho Chi Minh City to Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Pattaya.

The opening of this latest route is expected to increase the number of tourists traveling between Ho Chi Minh City and southern Vietnam and the Rayong and Pattaya area, a popular international tourist destination in Thailand. It will also provide more convenient connections for international visitors via the two gateways of Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and U-Tapao International Airport in Pattaya.

Pattaya, a beach city about 2 hours south of Bangkok, is one of the country’s top tourist cities not only for foreign visitors but also local people. Pattaya is a popular destination for those who want to see some of Thailand’s coastal delights while still enjoying all the trappings of a big city. Though the beaches may not be as famous as Phuket, they are still beautiful and have a lot of activities and entertainment.
